2010 is the International Year of Biodiversity

Biodiversity is the variety of all life forms on earth - the different plants, animals and micro-organisms and the ecosystems of which they are all a part.

Australia is the most mega-diverse developed country and supports almost 10 per cent of the biological diversity on the planet. Our diversity is essential to our identity and our culture.

Please help us to protect the biodiversity along the GDT by keeping to the track where possible, not walking or riding on sensitive areas and by keeping the GDT and its environs clear of rubbish. Carry out whatever you carry in.

Alison Pouliot has kindly made available some photographs of a selection of the biodiversity that exists on the Great Dividing Trail. Feel free to browse through Alison's photographs.
