Walks and Activities Program

Remaining Walks and Activities for 2008

Walk details are advertised for GDTA members in the regular GDT newsletter and email.

This web-based walk list for 2008 will be progressively updated and refined during 2008.

This year we have decided to list walks for the next few months rather than for the whole year.

Please note that details DO change. GDTA financial Members will get regular Newsletters (GDTA Post) and updates by email.

Most (but not all) of the walks are on parts of the Great Dividing Trail or on planned extensions.

It is essential to BOOK with the walk leader indicated at least three days beforehand.

PLEASE NOTE

  • Most 'normal' walks start at 9.00 am at the designated starting point except where noted.
  • Please contact the leader 4 days prior to book in for the walk.
  • You will be expected to help, if the walk includes a 'car shuffle' to get people home.
  • No walks will take place on days of Total Fire Ban.
  • All walkers should come properly prepared and have a good level of walking fitness consistent with the rating.
  • A $5 donation is sought from each participating non-member. If you join the GDTA within one month the donation counts towards the year's subscription.
  • For full walk details always contact the walk leader.

VISITOR POLICY

GDTA members pay a $3 donation per walk. Members are encouraged to bring along visitors on most of our activities including walks with the aim of increasing our membership. All visitors are asked to make a $5 donation to the GDTA which the Association will count towards the membership fee if the visitor joins during the following month. Members of bushwalking clubs which pay a club membership to the GDTA are invited to participate in our activities by making a $3 donation towards the Association.

Additional Short Walks & Special Interest Days

A number of short and special interest walks are regularly conducted throughout the year. In most cases an "expert" or knowledgeable person will be invited to give details of special interest. Program will include "car shuffles" from place to place of interest. Details will be added as they become available.
